13 Going on 30
Movie Title: 13 Going on 30
Year: 2004
Rated: PG-13
Duration: 1hr 38mins
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Fantasy
Director: Gary Winick
Starring: Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, Judy Greer, Andy Serkis
Tagline: For some, 13 feels like it was just yesterday. For Jenna, it was.
I've watched this movie many times and i always enjoy it and laugh and tear with all the scenes; it's such a beautiful, sort of time travel movie.
It's about Jenna who's just like any 13 year old girl that feels like her life is hell even though she has Matt as her best friend by her side; so she wishes to become 30 and her wish gets granted but slowly she discovers that her older self is very different than the young her, so she tries to right her wrongs, and even as a 30 year old woman she's still acting as a teenager because she really is (Jennifer Garner did an excellent job in making us believe her as a teen in a woman's body).

Of course my favorite scenes are when she meets future Matt; i loved the first scene where she panicked and wanted a pillow and everything after that... and the Thriller dance was epic...

Oh and it was a huge change to see Andy Serkis in person, he's actually human !!!
I absolutely love Mark Ruffalo (i think this is the first movie i've seen for him; now i've seen half of his filmography), his role here is sweet just like in Just Like Heaven, i like him in a romantic lead and Jennifer Garner was perfect for the role, and i liked her clothes,,,, and ahh the Lisa Frank folders,,, i still have mine and i want the rest :(
oh and i just read that some of Matt and Jennifer's scenes were improvised.

Jenna:
I love you, Matt. You're my best friendMatt: ...Jenna, I've always loved you

Suits (season 2)
Channel: USA network
Year: 2012
Suits is back, i know i didn't review the 1st season but if i ever do rewatch it I will, for now i will write my thoughts on each episode week by week as i watch the 2nd season this summer....
It's so exciting to see all the characters back; In the finale of last year we had hints that Jessica might know about Mike's fraud and Rachel and Mike never talked about their kiss.
Episode 1 She Knows
Ok the season starts with a song going "You're a fraud and you know it" - lovin' it- so Jessica knows about Mike's fake Harvard certificate and forces Harvey to fire Mike but he can't and then we have a nice talk between Donna and Harvey; When Mike knows about him being exposed to Jessica he loses it for a minute but Harvey promises he'll do his best to keep his job, so Mike focuses on finishing a lawsuit he was assigned to work on... then we have poor Rachel convinced that Mike got her message but he doesn't want it to work so she got mad. and we have this old manager Hardman trying to get his position in the firm back from Jessica.
And i absolutely loved the scene where Harvey faced Jessica and told her that if she's gonna fire Mike, she'll have to fire him as well ..... great guy protecting his apprentice :) and of course Jessica is one hell of a lady, i love all of her scenes with Harvey, you feel like the both of them know everything about the other.
Jessica: Nervous?
Mike: I’d be lying if I said no.
Jessica: Well I wouldn’t want you to lie
Donna: You need to give that boy more encouragement.
Harvey: He goes, I go
We get to see Mikes bike again; in the firm a whole lot of changes are going on and workers are figuring out whose side to take, Jessica's or Daniel... One of my favorite scenes is the one where Jessica and Donna and Harvey talk about who hates Harvey from their department,,,, again the moments between Jessica and Harvey were fantastic, him sealing the deal as he insisted it should and then her feeling betrayed. As for Rachel and Mike they get together and they had some sweet moments together then it all ended so soon for the sake of the the firm,,, too bad i really hoped they'd stay for a few more episodes.
Mike: I got your message
Harvey: Remind me to fire you
Jessica: Remind me to give you a raise
Harvey: You Know I was right
Mike: It doesn't make it any better
Episode 3 Meet the New Boss
I enjoyed this episode very much, the addition of Hardman's character is adding so much dynamic and interesting scenes like Jessica always being pissed by him and Harvey making his straight forward remarks to provoke Daniel... Margo Martindale (A Gifted Man, Justified) guest stars here as chief nurse that demands settlement money and in which Mike and Harvey argue about how to deal with it. oh and Louis had some great scenes here and they brought him a female version of him. and of course i loved the scene where Mike was helping Rachel to write about her for the dating website, it was so sweet and how they were so close without looking at each other :)
Rachel: I've got a photographic memory. Pretty much a legal hero

Rope
Movie Title: Rope
Year: 1948
Rated: PG
Duration: 1hr 20mins
Genre: Crime, Drama
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Starring: James Stewart, John Dall, Farley Granger
Tagline: It Begins With a Shriek... It Ends With a Shot!
so I decided to watch all 4 of Stewart and Hitchcock movies, I've already seen Rear Window and now this. Rope was their first film together. Even though James doesn't show up till after 27 minutes, they kept on talking about his character before that which makes the audience eagerly await his appearance.
Rope is about two friends Brandon and Phillip who decide to kill their friend David with a rope and in this way they consider themselves extraordinary by achieving something that other people won't normally do, after killing the guy, Phillip is nervous and has guilty written all over him, Brandon, on the other hand, is taking it so normally and even invites David's relatives and soon to be finance Janet and Rupert - a person Brandon believes is a clever man that might figure out their act - and to make things even more challenging and to consider the murder a masterpiece Brandon puts the dinner they're about to eat on the chest that contains the body.
I enjoyed this movie and it was nice to see how people act after an act of murder; i also loved how they kept on bringing the chest, there was even a whole shot where we can hear the party's conversation but the camera was set on the chest alone. I also liked the ending in how Rupert was shocked to see that his words inspired the two killers to do their ridiculous stunt just to prove their superiority.
****Here's a quote from the film to show that there's some humor in it .
Rupert: Brandon's spoken of you.
Janet: Did he do me justice?
Rupert: Do you deserve justice?
**** a little trivia for you
- this was the first Hitchcock COLOR film
- out of the 4 movies together, James Stewart didn't like this one, he felt that he was miscast
**** some scenes i liked
